A Need for Tighter Regulation - Interview with House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank … NYSE:AIG Government Politics Law Legal Issues Personal Finance Business bloomberg tv television Bloomberg Television
Im a democrat but I have to say that Barney Frank is talking rubbish here. It was he who opposed oversight of these financial institutions back in 2001 when the republicans tied to do it. He touched on it a bit later on in this interview saying that times have changed.
The Democrats created this mess in order to win back Congress and the White House. Frank, Pelosi and AIG are all to blame. They are playing games with the American public. Frank blames AIG for their excess but then continues to bail them out. No more excuses Rep Frank!
What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. They didn’t bail out Eastern Airlines, PAN-AM, Montgomery Wards, or help stabilize the automotive industries. Besides both major parties talk about less government and now they are talking about a new agency, or agencies, now bigger government and more regulation, all talk.
